About Us

The Bank started functioning from 18.07.1938 even though it was registered on 22.06.1938. The pioneer institution was earlier affiliated to the Madras Central Land Mortgage Bank .After the organization of the Kerala Co –operative Central Land Mortgage Bank in 1956 it got affiliated to it . The early activities of the bank were confined to redemption of prior debts and after a very long period ie, in nineteen seventies it was asked to enter in to Development Banking . The Bank had monopoly in long term Agricultural lending from then onwards and with the introduction of Kerala State Co –operative Agricultural Development Bank Act in 1984 Which got amended later in 1990 the bank activities were diversified to almost all the Rural Development activities, small scale industries and service sectors and supporting activities ,Rural Housing and Road Transport Vehicles , SCC,CC, Gold Loan etc.

The Bank is managed by an elected Board consisting of 11 members. The operational area of the Bank is Thalassery Taluk of Kannur District. It consist 35 villages. Majority of the total population are agriculturists.
