About Us

The Irinjalakuda Co-Operative Agricultural & Rural Development Bank was registered on 5.10.1970 and started functioning on 6.12.1970 with its Head quarters at Irinjalakuda of Thrissur District. The area of operation of the Bank initially included Mukundapuram and Kodungallur Taluks.However consequent to the formation of two separate banks in Kodungallur and Chalakudy Taluks, our present area of operation now stands limited to Mukundapuram Taluk.
Now the Bank is having two branches with its Head office at Irinjalakuda. The branches are full fledged and have all provisions and facilities except sanctioning of loans. The head office is co- ordinating the functions and formulating suitable schemes for the branch area. The head office and one branch office are working in its own building.The Bank is advancing all types of loans introduced by KSCARDB from time to time giving major priority to agricultural lendings. Now the bank accepts deposits for and on behalf of KSCARDB.
Sri. A.C.S Warrier was the chief promoter and the President of the bank from its inception in 1970 until his death in 2016, except for a term of 5 years .The Bank has celeberated its Silver Jubilee in 1995. The management of the bank vests in an elected board of directors consisting of 13 members representing different categories of members . At present there are 7 paid employees of the bank.

The Bank as an Agricultural and Rural Development Bank , playing a vital role in Mukundapuram Taluk by advancing agricultural as well as non agricultural loans to its members.
The Bank is maintaining a friendly relationship with its clients. Applicants seeking loans are treated cordially and given clear picture about the different types of loans. It is very important to note that the repaying capacity and the character of the applicant are invariably taken into account before sanctioning the loan. The borrowers of the bank are treated with utmost respect and undue delays and expenses are eliminated. We feel this approach of ours , leading to a satisfied customer with high self esteem ,is the key to whatever success that the bank has achieved.

It is to be noted that all the members of the staff and board of directors can identify a borrower of the bank easily. We can proudly say that 60% to 70% of our demand are being collected on the due date itself. This occurs mainly due to the service which the loanee receives from the bank, close relationship with the bank and of the prompt utilization of loans. We could achieve all these success with the active support and team work of the entire staff members, board of directors, the officers who are deputed from co-operative department and KSCARD Bank.

It is very happy to state that during the period from 1979-80 to 1989-90 , the bank was placed below 1 % overdue . Even in the present days of financial crisis, we could maintain more than 90 % collection. Another important factor is that the bank is working in profit from its inception and declaring dividend to the members at the maximum rate allowed in the act, upto last three years.The bank has been awarded for its best performance several times in state level and national level.
