With a view to implement the Govt. Policy for One Primary Co-operative Agricultural & Rural Development Bank in each Taluk, Govt. of Kerala promulgated an Ordinance in August 2011 bifurcating the existing PCARDBs having more than one Taluk as their area of operation. As such Irinjalakuda Co-operative Agricultural & Rural Development Bank Ltd.No.R-312, having its area of operation in Kodungallur Taluk was bifurcated and a New Bank “Kodungallur Taluk Primary Co-operative Agricultural & Rual Development Bank Ltd.No. R-1353, was registered on 14.02.2012. As per the Bifurcation Scheme the Assets and Liabilities pertaining to Kodungallur Branch of the Irinjalakuda Co-operative Agricultural & Rural Development Bank Ltd. R-312, having the area of operation in Kodungallur Taluk were taken over by the Newly registered PCARDB Ltd.No.R-1353. So also, the Liabilities of Members having availed loans from the Earstwhile “Kodungallur Co-operative Agricultural & Rural Development Bank Ltd.No.R-993” were taken over by the New Bank.
