ABOUT US

The Bank was registered on 31.10.1973 and started functioning from 20.02.1974 with 1251 ‘A’ Class members with head quarters at Tirur. The area of operation is Tirur & Ponnani Taluk. Sri.Kainikkara Mohammed was the Chief Promoter of the Bank. The 1st Branch of the Bank is Edappal, inaugurated on 05.08.1978. The Chemmad branch started functioning on 01.07.1982, Valanchery branch on 20.04.1987,Tirur branch on 01.07.1991 and Tanur branch on 02.11.2002.After the formation of Ponnani PCARDB, the Edappal Branch stop its functions and the assets & liabilities of that Branch joined to Valanchery Branch. A new sub-office functioning on 02/11/2018 at Indianoor, Kottakkal.
Due to the bifurcation of the Bank as on 31.10.2011, the Chemmad branch of our bank transferred to new Tirurangadi Co-operative Agricultural & Rural Development Bank. As on 31.03.2016, the Bank has 27007 ‘A’ class members with Rs. 504.16 lakhs Share Capital and the loan outstanding as on 31.03.2019 is 11280.13 lakhs. The lending for the year 2018-19 is Rs.5915.51 lakhs. The Bank has achieved a remarkable progress in recovery from the last few years. The overdue percentage as on 30.06.2015 is 8.35% and as on 31.03.2019 is 17.12%. From among the Primary PCARDB’s in the State, the Bank has an important role both in loan disbursement and recovery in its 42 years of Service. The bank has got best performance award of the NABARD for its performance for the year 2000-01.
